Delightful Donut!

My husband loves donuts! They are his favorite thing to eat! I, of course, had to make one! I plan on making two for him! I showed it to my 2 year-old son and he said, “cute!” I too am in love with it!

Materials-

  1. Worsted weight yarn

  2. Golden tan, purple, sprinkle colors, and black thread

  3. Hook size 3.5mm (E)

  4. 6mm Safety Eyes, or embroidered

  5. Stitch Marker

  6. PolyFill

  7. Tapestry Needle

  8. Scissors

  9. Sewing Pins

Abbreviations-

  1. Rd(s)- Round(s)

  2. MR- Magic Ring

  3. Ch- Chain

  4. Sc- Single Crochet

  5. Hdc- Half Double Crochet

  6. Dc- Double Crochet

  7. Sl st- Slip Stitch

  8. St(s)- Slip Stitch(s)

  9. Inc- Increase

  10. Dec- Invisible Decrease

  11. In front loops only pick up the next two loops, yarn over and pull through twice.

  12. FO- Fasten Off

Notes-

  1. Magic Ring Alternative is you can chain 2 and single crochet in the second chain from the hook.

  2. This will be crocheted in the round, no slip stitch and chain.

  3. If not specified or in () repeat to the end of the round.

  4. Stuff as you go.

Donut-

Ch 12, sl st in last ch to make a ring.

Rd 1: sc 12 on one side of the ch

Rd 2: sc around

Rd 3-4: sc, inc

Rd 5: sc, inc, sc

Rd 6-7: sc around

Repeat rds 1-6 on the other side of the ch with frosting color. Insert your hook from the same side as the tan side. While sewing the donut closed insert eyes between joining rd and last rd, 6 sts apart.

To sew together insert hook through both loops of both halves of the donut up toward the frosting. Start with a ch and starting in the next st (sc, hdc, dc 2, hdc, sc, sl st) stuff as you go! FO and sew in ends. Sew some sprinkles on the frosting and mouth.
